My Cherokee blood must speak today
If a group of Native Americans from what is now called The United States of America had sailed in wooden boats across the ocean in 1492 and "discovered Europe"....the People there would have laughed and said "you can't claim this land belongs to the Great Spirit! We have been living here for centuries and We Kings and Queens OWN all this Land!
So we have Columbus sailing over from Europe in 1492 and "discovering" The New World. Riiight. There were millions of native "Americans" already living in North America for centuries! Columbus did not really discover anything, he had become in effect the advance reconnaissance team for a European invasion of North America by Spain, England and France. Operation "Promised Land".
Millions of Native Americans mistakenly called "Indians" by Columbus because he thought he had found India, were killed through germ warfare using diseased blankets brought over from Europe carrying germs that the Natives had no natural immunity to. And then came the Indian Wars, the Broken Treaties, the Trail of Tears. A history written by the Victor and for the Victor. The history of how our European ancestors had to rid the land of these "savages" to make us safe and secure. One must in some way demonize and objectify his enemy in order to justify the killing and extermination of said enemy. We can't take another decent child of Gods life and all his earthly possessions without first making him or her into some kind of sub-human, savage, devil,terrorist, or heathen.
It wouldn't be Christian.
A certain remnant of the native peoples must be saved from total annihilation and herded onto reservations (let's not call them concentration camps) to show our "mercy" and "compassion", while some of the "savages" shall also be converted to Christianity, if they know what's good for them, to DEMONstrate our Brotherly Love.
The Great Spirit, The Creator of all that is, was not honored by the greed and lust of the Europeans. According to the Universal Law of the Great Spirit a chain reaction was caused, that while only a brief moment in the time of the Great Spirit, has taken over half a millennium in our Earthly time to manifest. The United States of America you see today is reaping the bitter fruit of the seeds that were sown long ago by the Europeans. What goes around, comes around.
May the Great Spirit show you the Mercy that was not shown by your forefathers to the Cherokee and to all the Tribes of North America.
