This is Really a great example of how the big boys do it.
Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, J.C. Penney, Sears and other traditional retailers have formed The Alliance for Main Street Fairness to push for more stringent tax laws on Internet retailers. Brick-and-mortar stores saw sales plunge 9.1 percent between 2007-2009, while online merchants saw sales rise 4.8 percent, according to the latest data available from the U.S. Census Bureau. Wal-Mart's comparable store sales were down nearly 1 percent in 2010.
The alliance is pushing to expand the definition of physical presence, state-by-state, to force big online retailers to collect state sales tax.

So the guys that killed businesses on main streets all over America are now looking for Main Street "fairness'
and sure there are big online companies .
But if and when I have to buy , I will choose a Company or a state, that's not going to Tax me every time I give them my business.
And sales taxes are the solution to what America ?
Check the latest number of Americans on Food Stamps.
Check Americas crumbling infrastructure.
Taxes are not the solution. Sales taxes are a scourge on the people that eat away at their hard earned wages.
So if you like to buy products online many of which are not available in these stores and many which are but are not always available at the best price...... and you like the idea that your not running around spending money for Gas and wasting driving time that could be used for other activities not to speak of the risk of getting in an auto accident and the fact that you can get a reduction in your auto insurance from most companies if you drive fewer miles per year.....and the fact that you don't have to run out to return products that don't work etc., ...
And you don't think you should be taxed to provide in effect a subsidy to the Big Boys so they can in effect slap a tariff on the online retailers (with your money) then you might want to consider not supporting what I call the Alliance for Squeezing the Online Shopper....nuff said.
