Methane Hydrate, Global Warming You Can Believe In!
Methane warms the earth's atmosphere much faster than CO2....
And there are MEGA reserves... IN THE OCEAN... and as BP knows in the GULF of Mexico....
Check this fro Kerry Cassidy at The Project Camelot Portal
From an unnamed source:
"BP is METHANE HYDRATE MINING in the Gulf of Mexico. Methane Hydrate is explosive. Methane Hydrate Crystals can resemble smoking lava rocks...if they land on anything, they can burn...extremely flammable. bp is mining the Gulf of Mexico sea floor. During mining they strip the floor and create dead zones to all sea life, coral life. Methane also sucks the oxygen out of the water...perhaps reason for all of the fish kills washing ashore. Large Methane measures can also sink boats/ships. bp is not only doing their methane hydrate mining in the Gulf of Mexico but up and down East Coast of US and all over the world. Possible reason for bp spraying millions of gallons of corexit and other chemicals over the Gulf of Mexico is to keep the "fire explosion possibility" low. METHANE HYDRATE is the "new" energy source. bp and gov't has not been telling us the truth. Plz spread the word and study "Methane Hydrate". PEACE"
And This...
Many geologists suspect that gas hydrates play an important role in stabilizing the seafloor. Drilling in these oceanic deposits could destabilize the seabed, causing vast swaths of sediment to slide for miles down the continental slope. Evidence suggests that such underwater landslides have occurred in the past with devastating consequences. The movement of so much sediment would certainly trigger massive tsunamis similar to those seen in the Indian Ocean tsunami of December 2005.
But perhaps the biggest concern is how methane hydrate mining could affect global warming. Scientists already know that hydrate deposits naturally release small amounts of methane. The gas works itself skyward -- either bubbling up through permafrost or ocean water -- until it's released into the atmosphere. Once methane is in the atmosphere, it becomes a greenhouse gas even more efficient than carbon dioxide at trapping solar radiation. Some experts fear that drilling in hydrate deposits could cause catastrophic releases of methane that would greatly accelerate global warming.

Popular Mechanics: Methane Hydrates -- Energy Source of the Future?
Natural gas locked up in methane hydrates could be the world's next great energy source--if engineers can figure out how to extract it safely.
Yeah, and keep the rigs from exploding and melting....
So then, was the "global Warming" movement about covering for the huge developing business of methane hydrate mining by ....THE OIL COMPANIES? Convincing us that it was all due to The CO2 that we use and taxing us for it while they pump the methane big time into the atmosphere?
